Assignment 3

Reading

• Pages 17-26 (Chapter 1 - Foundations - Sections 1.6-1.8) of the textbook.
• Pages 31-40 (Chapter 2 - Simple linear regression - Sections 2.1-2.2) of the course packet.

Exercises to turn in

• Due by beginning of class on Monday, week 4.
• Remember when using SPSS to first change the "Options" (if necessary) to display variable names (in alphabetical order) rather than labels in dialog boxes, to show variable names rather than labels in output tables, and to display small numbers in tables without using scientific notation.

• Exercise 1.7 (page 29) - 10 points,
• Exercise 2.1 (page 70) - 10 points.

• You'll need the MBA and INTERNET data files.

Review exercises not to be turned in

The following exercises provide further review of the material and it is strongly recommended that you work them. Do not hand in anything for these questions however. Some answers are available in the back of the book.
