Course announcements (most recent first) are as follows:

• The final exam is 6-8pm Thu 6/12 in 207 Chapman Hall (opposite Gilbert on south side of 13th).
• Final exam preparation and sample questions are available from the handouts page.
• HW7: for problem 4.7 part (e), the hint should refer you to the example on p151 (not p147).
• Remember to email me your group's best result for SIA3 (R², s, and list of predictor terms in model) - deadline 4pm Tuesday May 20.
• Project information is available on the assignments page - remember to email me by 4pm Tuesday May 20 if you'd like to do the project (groups to be organized in class on Wednesday May 21).
• Mid-term exam scores are available from the assignments page. Note that each question on the mid-term was worth 10 points, so to find out your score out of 30 divide by 10.

• Approximate grades break down roughly at 28-30 "A", 23-27 "B", 19-22 "C", 16-18 "D".
• I encourage you to come and talk to me during office hours (or by appointment) if you have any concerns about your mid-term exam score or just want to see which questions you got wrong. We will not have time to go over the exam in class.
• Check the syllabus to see how group member evaluations will be used (note that this first one will not be used to adjust grades - its purpose is to highlight potential problems before they become serious). In particular, if your evaluation ("mteval" in the grades spreadsheet) is less than 10 you should strive to improve your group contribution.

• A "Mid-term Exam Preparation" handout is available from the handouts page. You should print this out and bring it to the exam on Apr 30. There is space in this document to write notes which you can use in the exam. You cannot use the textbook or any other notes in the exam.
• The exam is based on chapters 1 and 2 from the textbook.
• A practice mid-term exam is available on the handouts page. Solutions will not be posted, but you can check your answers by trying out the online version (this gives you immediate feedback) and we will also go through the answers in class on Apr 28.
• SPSS hint - to make SPSS show more decimal places in output tables do the following: double click the table (so that it has a dashed border around it); highlight the cells with the relevant numbers in; right click and select "Cell Properties;" click the "Format Value" tab and change "Decimals" to what you want. I could not find any way to automatically get SPSS to always use this number of decimals in every table - if anyone discovers how to do this please let me know.
• Use the updated SPSS 16 instructions on the book website that supersede the Appendix A instructions: available here.
• The animated graph I showed in class on Monday is at: http://www.gapminder.org.
• Remember that you need to complete and submit a survey by 4:00pm on Tuesday April 1.
• Instructions for downloading SPSS onto your own computer are at: http://isom.uoregon.edu.
• The website for the textbook is at http://lcb1.uoregon.edu/ipardoe/armaba. Here you can find slides from class available for printing, amongst other things.
• The Group Member Evaluation document is available to look at from the handouts page.
